One of solar's biggest advantages is how little upkeep it needs compared to a generator or other backup systems — there are no moving parts on the panels themselves. But dust, debris and monsoon wear do gradually affect output if left unchecked.
Through the year
Rinse panels with water every few weeks in dry, dusty periods — a visible layer of dust can measurably cut output. After heavy dust storms or bird activity, an extra clean is worth it. Avoid abrasive cleaning tools or high-pressure jets that can scratch the glass or loosen seals.
Before and after monsoon
Check that mounting structures and cable glands are secure before monsoon season, and inspect for water pooling or debris buildup after. Rain itself is generally good for panels — it acts as a natural rinse — but clogged drainage on ground-mounted arrays is worth checking.
What we cover
Our installations include scheduled maintenance visits, and our support line is for exactly this kind of check-in — not just for faults. If output drops noticeably between bills, that's worth a call before it becomes a bigger issue.
